Amit Gadhia is a leading Data Protection and Privacy lawyer in Kenya with over 26 years of legal experience (with intervals). A fourth generation Kenyan, Amit relocated with his family to the United Kingdom before returning to Kenya in 2018. Besides being a co-founder of two successful law firms, he has considerable experience in establishing and successfully running business start-ups, an education consultancy and operating an international franchise in the UK.
Amit has advised and continues to advise national and international organisations on data protection compliance which includes major infrastructure projects, airlines, hospitality sector, universities, charities and a national retail chain. He is a trainer with Maastricht University’s Global Privacy Officer Certification (ECPC-G) and an accredited external auditor with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner of Kenya. Amit regularly publishes articles on the Tax Prism (Kenya tax authority’s quarterly magazine), speaks on Spice FM (Kenya) and is an IAPP article contributor.
